2011 Classic Tournament Winners
Larry Boring & Doug True
Regular Season Comes to End
Cadiz, KY
August 19, 2011
The sixth and final leg of Senior Bass Anglers’ 2011 tournament season took place today on Lake Barkley near Cadiz, Kentucky. After seeing record highs set the previous month on Old Hickory Lake, the bags weighed in on Barkley looked a little light. Even so, Larry Sharp & Mike Walker had no trouble hauling in a beautiful bag of bass weighing 16.49 lbs. Their team also logged the 2nd largest fish in today’s tournament.
Bringing home the largest fish today was the team of Tad Jenkins & Chuck Jones with a beauty that weighed 5.49 pounds.
The SBA Classic will take place next month on Kentucky Lake. Hope to see everyone there.
Highs on Old Hickory
Gallatin, TN
July 22, 2011
95+ degree temperatures weren’t the only highs reached during today’s Senior Bass Anglers tournament on Old Hickory Lake. Record highs were set in the number of bags and number of limits weighed in during the 5th round of SBA’s 2011 season. 74% of the field had limits and only 4 boats did not weigh fish today.
Taking the top prize once again was the team of Rusty Rust & Chuck Walden who weighed in an bag containing 18.66 pounds of bass. The largest bass of the day weighed 6.24 lbs, caught by the team of Ken Schriml & Kirk Lafferty.
We look forward to seeing everyone next month on Lake Barkley.
Tough Day on Prist
Smyrna, TN
June 24, 2011
Round 4 of SBA’s 2011 season on Percy Priest Lake today was rough! Gusty winds and warm waters made for some pretty lonely stringers. Although many of the bass weighed in were of good size, finding them a buddy or two to join them in the live well was a tough task. Only seven limits were weighed in.
In first today was the team of Rusty Rust & Chuck Walden who weighed in an impressive 21.86 pound bag. The largest bass of the day weighed 5.96 lbs, caught by the team of Ken Schriml & Kirk Lafferty.
Please join us next month at Bull’s Creek on Old Hickory Lake.
Kentucky Keepers
Paris, TN
May 27, 2011
The third leg of SBA’s 2011 season took place today on Kentucky Lake, and boy were the fish biting. The overcast sky and cooler temperatures made for some pretty active bass. And most every SBA team had a keeper today.
Taking the top spot was the team of Van Schwendimann & Mike Davis with a bag weighing in at a whopping 22.04 pounds. The largest single fish of the day was a gorgeous bass that weighed 5.86 lbs, caught by the team of Jim Whiteaker & Mike Bradley.
Please join us next month at Fate Sanders Marina on Percy Priest Lake.
Windy Hill
Smithville, TN
April 22, 2011
Round two of SBA’s 2011 season took place today on Center Hill Lake, but if you asked some SBA competitors, they might tell you that they spent the day on Windy Hill Lake. With winds gusting up to 25 mph, conditions were challenging to say the least.
Despite the rough winds and rainy start, SBA anglers bagged a whopping 386.52 pounds of bass on Center Hill Lake today.
Taking top honors in today’s competition was the team of Jim Douglas & Charlie King with a bag of fish weighing in at 15.56 pounds. Douglas & King also reeled in the largest fish of the day. It was a beauty that weighed 6.06 lbs.
We invite you to join us next month at Paris Landing on Kentucky Lake.
2011 Season Begins
Guntersville, AL
March 18, 2011
SBA kicked off it’s 2011 season today on Lake Guntersville in North Alabama. It was an incredible day to be on the lake and the weather could not have been better for an early spring tournament.
With a field of 57 boats, SBA members hit the water bright and early. By 2:30, most all teams had weighed in at least one fish. The Hawg Pot remained in tact despite several large stringers produced at the weigh in.
Adding to the excitement of its season opener, SBA paid eleven places and offered many new door prizes for those not in the money.
Taking top honors today was the team of Kimmy Perryman and Jimmy Clary with a bag of fish weighing 19.48 lbs. The Big Fish was caught by Kimmy Perryman. It wasn’t quite a Hawg, but it was a 6.27 pound beauty.
